Delta County Home School Educators

Located in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula!

DCHSE at a Glance

DCHSE exists to support and encourage those who are home educating and to act as a source of information to those considering educating their children at home.

Are you thinking about or new to homeschooling? Our first suggestion is to check out Michigan’s Homeschooling Laws on the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) website.

Next take a little time to read Mary Pride’s Big Books of Home Learning and Cathy Duffy’s Christian Home Educator’s Curriculum Manuals. Check with your local library, and if you live in the UP, both of these series are available through inter-library loan (www.uplibraries.org). Cathy Duffy’s books are available for purchase through Rainbow Resource Center.

Then find out as much about homeschooling as possible. Several homeschooling information links are on our Links page.   If you still have questions, contact us and we will do our best to help you find the answers that are best for you.

A Homeschooler’s Typical Day

Read about a homeschooler’s typical day. This page is for new homeschoolers and veterans. Just as each homeschooling family is different, each approach and daily schedule is different. Homeschooling let you as the parent decide what is best for your child, so come on in and maybe take away a few new ideas.

Fundraising

We have very low membership rates and fundraising helps keep them low.  Please take advantage of the following fundraising opportunities:

General Mills, Betty Crocker, etc. - Boxtops 4 Education

Campbell's Labels - Labels for Education

Kemps Lids - Nickels for Schools
